Why does the slide hold back on a handgun?
1. Easy to see that the handgun is empty a. Keeps from dry firing
2. Easy to see that its empty for safety reasons
3. Much easier to load a full magazine
4. Easier to evaluate the feed ramp and other easily accessible parts of the handgun.
